Hello, my name is Taisha Reyes and I am an undergraduate student graduating in May 2018 with a bachelors in Business Management. I have spent the last four years preparing myself, and working towards my bachelors degree in Business Management. I am now ready to challenge myself and become a better me. I am ready to take on the challenge of working towards a Masters in fashion marketing, which is what I hope to pursue at LIM this upcoming fall 2018 semester. Being a role model to my younger brother Jason and being the first in the family to graduate college has been a motivational journey. I also want to pursue a MPS, because I want to break society stereotypes that Latinos don't pursue high levels of education. As a young Latina born and raised by foreign parents, means I had never been educated on, inspired or required to pursue a master’s degree. Completing a bachelor's degree is satisfying enough to my parents, regarding their only education was a high school diploma. I will not fall under that percentage of Latinos who prove stereotypes to be correct, and I refuse to let future employers assume my level of education based off my kicky curly hair, and ethnicity. When I was a little girl it saddened me that my family couldn't afford to buy me nice clothes and shoes from stores of my choice because money was scarce. I remember cutting my clothes to make them versatile for school. As I grew older I began experimenting with different colors and materials and discovered my eye for art and creativity. I've always liked every aspect of art whether it was the art in music, paintings, or architecture, but the art of fashion just became a part of my daily routines. I want to pursue a degree in Fashion marketing because I want to put my knowledge and education of business, and fashion to use through, my perspectives and traveling experiences. Due to high loan debts, pursuing a Masters degree will be challenging, and covering my school expenses in the city of NYC will be challenging. I would highly appreciate anyone who will kindly make any donation to help me pay for graduate school. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and keep in mind that anything helps.
